Abiding Savior Lutheran Preschool, Gainesville, Florida, admits children of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic or other school-administered programs.
Abiding Savior Lutheran Preschool offers classes for children who will be turning 2 by December 31st of the current school year through Prekindergarten. Our student/teacher ratios are low, affording each child individual attention as needed in nurturing and loving classrooms. |
Once a child turns two, growth in all areas is explosive. The fingers become more adept at stringing, painting, scribbling and snapping. Learning experiences in the 2-3’s classroom include interaction with household tools and objects, thought-provoking language, and opportunities for artistic and pretend play. 2-3’s are curious and ask lots of questions. There is room inside and out for lots of movement.
In the 3-4’s classroom, teachers will work on developing the persistence and focus needed to begin more formal learning. Games, stories, songs and fingerplays will encourage language development while teaching math concepts like patterns and counting.
Our program focuses on the Florida Early Learning Standards for 4’s and meets each child at his or her own pace for being ready for the next stage of learning. 4-5 year-olds’ increasing capacity for attention and focus allow for more direct learning and small group learning activities. Cooperative play teaches skills of forgiveness and reconciliation as they recognize Jesus’ love. He is their best friend and will always be with them.

Prospective parents who wish to be placed on our waiting list can call or come in person to the school office to do so. Being on the waiting list does not mean that you are enrolled. It just means that you are waiting to be called once an opening becomes available, or when it is registration time for that school year. Being on the waiting list does not necessarily mean that there will be a spot for everyone on the list; however, the earlier you put your child on the list for their school year, the better. The waiting list is updated annually.
