Music is a precious gift from God—one that has carried the Gospel through centuries and across cultures. At Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, music enriches our worship, unites our voices, and deepens our faith.
Chancel Choir

Open to high school and adult singers, the Chancel Choir leads worship at the 8:30 a.m. service with music spanning:

  • Gregorian chant
  • Baroque, Classical, Romantic works
  • Contemporary sacred music

Season: September to Pentecost
Special Invitation: Extra singers are welcome to join during Christmas.

Praise Ensemble

High school and adult singers & instrumentalists leading worship at the 11:00 a.m. service with:

  • Theologically sound, liturgically appropriate music
  • Contemporary style and sound

Serves year-round on a semi-rotational basis.

Other Ensembles

Our worship is enriched by:

  • Chime Choir
  • Brass/Wind Ensemble
  • Strings and guest musicians

These groups serve during special events and throughout the church year.

The Scholz Memorial Organ

Our sanctuary is blessed with a custom-designed pipe organ, built in 1996 by Hagerstown Pipe Organ Company:

  • 12 ranks | 811 pipes | 2 manuals | 27 registers

  • Constructed from wood, zinc, and tin/lead pipes

  • Features Möller direct electric action, Peterson solid-state combination action, and expression chests for both Swell and Great divisions

Enhancements:

  • 2021: Added Glockenstern (in memory of Art Swett) and Organ Chimes (in celebration of our 30th anniversary)

  • 2025: Installed a new Allen digital organ (3 manuals, hybrid with pipes or speakers, preloaded music library)
